Telescopic Low Vision Glasses
Introduction
EyeT telescopic glasses are designed to support patients with reduced visual acuity who require magnification for distance and intermediate tasks, with the option to adapt for near vision.
Each system combines optical magnification with integrated LED illumination to enhance contrast and visual clarity in various lighting conditions.
Magnification Power
Telescopic systems are available in a range of magnifications.
Spectacle-mounted telescopes typically range from X1.7 to X7.
Handheld telescopes can reach magnifications up to X10.
EyeT telescopic glasses are carefully selected and customized according to the patient’s visual needs and functional goals.
Field of View
- Improve overall reading flow
- Working Distance
As magnification increases, the field of view becomes narrower.
- Lower magnifications (up to approximately X3) typically use Galilean systems, offering a wider field of view and lighter design
- Higher magnifications (X4 and above) typically use Keplerian systems, providing greater detail but with a reduced field of view
Adjustable telescopic systems may further reduce the field of view when focused on near distances.
Working Distance
There are two main approaches for adapting telescopic glasses to different distances:
Adjustable telescopic systems, allowing focus changes between distances.
Distance telescopes with an additional “cap” lens, enabling near or intermediate viewing.
This flexibility allows EyeT telescopic systems to support both distance and near tasks when required.
Mobility
Mobility depends on how the telescopic system is mounted:
- Spectacle-mounted systems (including bioptic designs) allow hands-free use and full mobility. These are suitable for daily activities such as walking, recognizing objects, or viewing at a distance
